BRITs 2015: Sam Smith wants Ed Sheeran to win Best Album and Best Male (and he wants to meet Gary Barlow)

heat caught up with the singer in his dressing room earlier today and the 22-year-old admitted he wanted his old mate Ed to beat him to the top spots.

“Personally I want Ed to win a lot this year,” Ed exclusively told heat. “He deserves it – I’d love him to win the album and the best male. I’d like to win the breakthrough – it would mean everything for me to win. But I’m feeling good, I already feel like I’ve won at life this year.”

The Stay With Me star – who’s up for five awards – also said that winning four Grammys earlier this month was “a real realisation that my life was never going to be the same,” but he’s as down to earth as ever.

“I really want to meet Gary Barlow,” he added. “I’ve heard he’s said loads of nice things about me so I’d like to say hello. My PA is the biggest fan of

Madonna – she’s amazing. I love her new album, it’s incredible – I’m a massive feminist myself.”
