Oh god oh GOD we've just heard the worst news ever and it's not even lunchtime. Apparently Brody Jenner - son of Caitlyn Jenner and man-candy on The Hills - never actually dated Lauren Conrad when they were both on the hit MTV reality show. Even though he told her how much he loved her wide sideways smile.
This has pretty much destroyed our notion of love. And romance. And the concept of the future. Now we're just staring into the abyss and all is silence, all is darkness.
Speaking on his new weekly podcast, Brody explained how he'd only ever been friends with Lauren and that their relationship was just for the cameras.
"[Lauren and I] worked together on a show called The Hills where we had to pretend like we were dating but we never dated," he told his co-host Dr Mike Dow.
He's also been linked to Avril Lavigne, Nicole Richie and fellow Hills star Kristin Cavillari. WHERE THESE ALL LIES TOO, BRODY?
Only last week he admitted to having dated his now sister-in-law Leah Jenner when they were both younger.
Leah, who is now married to Brody's brother Brandon, explained how she went to school with the Hills star when they were 11.
"So [Brody] was my boyfriend in the fifth grade... we never kissed," she added.
Hopefully Lauren isn't too devo by Brody's revelation, seeing as she's getting married to fiancé William Tell pretty soon.
Last month she celebrated her hen do with a load of friends in Mexico, tagging the resulting pics "Don't tell Mr Tell". We see what you did there, Lauren.
