All eyes were on David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebrations after weeks of speculation about a new family feud with eldest son Brooklyn and wife Nicola Peltz Beckham. And with the couple notably absent from a whole week of family events, they appear to have completely distanced themselves from their A-list in-laws. Now, we’re told, a devastated Victoria Beckham is feeling anxious about the future –  and is even worrying  what this latest drama may mean when grandchildren eventually come onto the scene.

Our source says, ‘Victoria was extremely hurt that Brooklyn and Nicola chose to snub all the celebrations. She’s at her wits’ end over how this could escalate and the devastating effect it will have on her family if they can’t fix it. She’s so excited to one day become a grandmother, but her worst fear, other than being estranged from one of her children, is not being able to see her future grandchildren. This is something that’s now tearing her up thanks to this stupid feud with Brooklyn.’

David entered his sixth decade this month with a succession of very-extra celebrations. Hot on the heels of festivities in Miami, Paris and the Cotswolds, the star partied with a host of famous faces – including Eva Longoria, Tom Cruise, Guy Ritchie and Gordon Ramsay – at a black tie bash in London. Alongside him at all the parties was wife Victoria, 51, daughter Harper, 13, as well as son Romeo, 22, with his girlfriend Kim Turnbull, 24, and son Cruz, 20, and his girlfriend Jackie Apostel, 29.

However, notably missing was eldest son Brooklyn, 26, and his wife Nicola, 30. Amid rumours of tension between the two eldest Beckham brothers, the couple chose to skip each and every one of David’s many birthday parties. Having revealed that they were indeed in the capital city via an Instagram post captioned, ‘London love’, Brooklyn and Nicola raised eyebrows by not being pictured at the family Cotswolds party. They also seemingly snubbed a 24-hour jaunt to a French vineyard followed by a dinner in Paris, which saw the whole Beckham family fly in on a private jet. Finally, they were also no-shows at the star-studded London party.

It’s been alleged their absence was down to the attendance at all the events by DJ Kim, who was rumoured to have been a love interest of Brooklyn around nine years ago. While brother Cruz appeared to put speculation about that to bed with a since-deleted response to a follower comment, which stated,‘Brooklyn and Kim never dated’, insiders have said the duo did move in the same social circles in their younger days. It has also been said Nicola isn’t a fan of her brother-in-law’s partner, with reports claiming  that she and Brooklyn did intend to be at David’s birthday celebrations, before cancelling at short notice because of Kim.

It’s not the first time the Peltz Beckhams have skipped family events. But while David and Victoria usually add a ‘missing you’ comment about their eldest son when posting about family occasions on Instagram, Posh and Becks made no reference to his absence from the birthday bonanzas, despite sharing a host of images.

Several days after his birthday, David finally appeared to offer an olive branch to Brooklyn when sharing photos of a boys’ birthday fishing trip in Scotland with Romeo and Cruz. Addressing the elephant in the room, he poignantly wrote, ‘You were missed Brooklyn.’

Now, as Brooklyn appears to distance himself even further from his family, our source says David is becoming just as concerned as his wife. ‘Vic has been desperately trying to get David to intervene for a while, but he was insistent that it would all blow over,’ an insider tells heat. ‘But after Brooklyn’s no-shows for all of his birthday celebrations, he’s realised the seriousness of the situation and is deeply hurt. David agrees they need to do something drastic, as the likelihood of their family being ripped apart, and them being blocked from seeing future grandchildren is very real.’

Rumours of tension in the Beckham fold first emerged in April 2022, after Brooklyn tied the knot with billionaire heiress Nicola. According to sources, Nicola fell out with her fashion designer mother-in-law after opting not to wear a VB-designed dress. The young bride later clarified, ‘It’s not a feud! I think it all started because I didn’t end up wearing Victoria’s wedding dress. I thought it was beautiful that Brooklyn’s mum got to make that for me and I was really excited to wear it. And I didn’t end up wearing it.’

By the following year, however, things appeared to have thawed and Victoria was front and centre at the premiere of Nicola’s Lola film last year, writing, ‘We could not be more proud of you. Congratulations on your incredible film… Kisses.’ Returning the love, Nicola even wore a VB trouser suit at the event. And, our insider reveals that uniting their family unit again is a top priority for the former Spice Girl, who hopes to mend any rifts before the Peltz Beckhams start their own brood.

Brooklyn has often spoken about his dreams of become a young dad, admitting in an interview that he was ready for parenthood when he was just 23. ‘I’ve always wanted to be a young dad, and I would love to have a family soon,’ he said. ‘Whenever my wife is ready. I could have [10] kids, but it’s her body and her decision.’

Revealing that the young couple had already spoken about their future together, he later shared, ‘We would love to have some of our own, and we would love to adopt. It’ll be so cool to have little Peltz Beckhams running around.’ It won’t take much convincing to get Nicola on board, either. During an interview, she revealed that she was equally excited for their future family, gushing, ‘I love that Brooklyn really wants to be a dad.’

He and Nicola have yet to address the rumours of the latest fallout, and are seemingly focused on their own joint endeavours, as it was reported last week that they intend to set up a charity dog shelter called the Peltz Beckham Foundation, which will rescue and shelter homeless dogs in Los Angeles. They are understood to have filed paperwork in California registering the non-profit organisation under both of their names.

And with becoming a future grandma very much on her mind, we’re told Posh has leapt into action to ensure that she and David don’t miss out on that experience, with our source telling us that the Beckham matriarch hates to see her family divided.

Revealing that the star is making plans to get their family back on track, our insider says, ‘David and Victoria are looking at hiring a professional mediator who can work with the family, but there’s every chance Brooklyn will refuse – despite them already finding one of the top family mediation firms in Los Angeles. This is something Vic never thought she would have to do, even in her worst nightmares.’

And, as the family navigate their way through the latest drama, we’re told VB has all her fingers crossed that her eldest son may yet have a change of heart. Our source adds, ‘Vic is praying that Brooklyn will see the hurt he’s causing their family and agree to letting a third party mediate and counsel them through it all. Vic just wants her son back, and to be safe in the knowledge that she can one day be the doting grandma she’s always dreamed of being.’
