Caitlyn Jenner, who is being investigated in connection with a fatal car crash that occurred in February in California, has reportedly expressed her concerns over county jails placing transgender people with the opposite sex.

According to *NBC, *Los Angeles County authorities, who have said speed was a factor in the collision, are considering 'misdemeanor manslaughter charges' against Caitlyn. A charge like this could also carry a one-year prison sentence.

"That is the worst-case scenario ... It is an enormous problem that they would put trans women in a men's county jail," the former Olympian told NBC.

The 65-year-old went on to say that she remembered little about the crash and that she was not speeding at the time.

"All I needed was probably a half a second of time, I almost got stopped but couldn't quite get it stopped," she said.

In February, TMZ reported that Caitlyn, who at the time was known as Bruce, was involved in a three-car pile-up on which left one woman dead and seven injured.

Caitlyn was driving on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu at around noon when the incident occurred - several eye witnesses were reported to have seen her rear end a white car.

The white car then went into oncoming traffic and was struck by a Hummer. The website reports that eyewitnesses say the driver of the white car, who was a female, died at the scene.

And at the time, Caitlyn told the authorities she was being chased by five paparazzi when she rear-ended the white car.

A volunteer sobriety test proved Caitlyn was not drinking and that it was Caitlyn who hit the Lexus and sent it flying into the Hummer.
