Caitlyn Jenner is claimed to have bagged an enormous $5million for her documentary series I Am Cait.

The 65-year-old – who showed off her glamourous looks on the cover of Vanity Fair earlier this month – is claimed to have been offered the sum for the eight-part series on E!.

“It's the biggest paycheck ever given by E! for a solo reality show, and Caitlyn's agent was relentless in getting her the huge payday,” an insider told Radar Online.

But it wasn’t an easy task, with the source alleging the series almost hit the rocks.

“At one point, talks between the network and E! had broken down, because nobody wanted to pay her more than $2million,” they added. “Caitlyn's agent then began informal talks with other networks, and E! quickly came back to the table, ready to pay $5million.”

The eight part series will show Caitlyn’s new life and how she, and her friends and family, are moving forwards.

In a teaser for the show, the former Olympian says: “So many people go through life and they never deal with their own issues, no matter what the issues are," Caitlyn says in a new teaser for the show.

“Ours happen to be gender identity, but how many people go through life and just waste an entire life because they never deal with themselves, to be who they are?”

In recent days, Caitlyn’s been pictured out with friends and visiting a LGBT centre to help continue to raise awareness for people going through what she has.

In the Vanity Fair interview, she revealed how she wanted to use her journey to help others, adding: “I'm doing it to help my soul and help other people.

“If I can make a dollar, I certainly am not stupid. [I have] house payments and all that kind of stuff. I will never make an excuse for something like that. You don't go out and change your gender for a television show. O.K., it ain't happening. I don't care who you are.”

I Am Cait starts on 2 August at 9pm on E!
