According to Us Weekly a judge has granted Caitlyn Jenner’s request to legally change her name and gender.
The former Olympian was not in attendance and instead her attorneys attended the hearing. It’s claimed she is now legally known as Caitlyn Marie Jenner.
Cait filed the documents – for a legal change in her name and gender – on 15 September and asked for her medical records to remain private, following sick threats she'd received since she revealed she was transgender.
Since she bravely spoke out back in April, during an interview with Diane Sawyer, Caitlyn’s been praised for her work for the trans community and for helping to encourage other people to live as who they truly are.
Speaking to Vanity Fair shortly afterwards, Caitlyn talk about her insecurities regarding her gender. “The uncomfortableness of being me never leaves all day long,” she said. “I’m not doing this to be interesting. I’m doing this to live.
“Who would want to be dealing with all these issues? I look at men and say, 'Oh my God, would it not be so wonderful to be comfortable in your own skin, male or female, so when you wake up in the morning you get dressed and go to work and this identity issue is not even present?'”
