Today is the day you can buy one of the strangest bits of celebrity memorabilia we've seen in a long time.

We’ve seen Justin Timberlake's unfinished french toast sell for $1,000 and Scarlett Johansson's used tissue for $5,300, while Britney Spears' used pregnancy test – from her K-Fed days – sold for $5,100.

Now, 2017 has brought you Ryan Gosling’s used chewing gum.

That’s right.

Ryan Gosling appeared on Virgin Radio and left the show's host – Matt Richardson – a very special gift. If that’s the right way to describe it…

He left a piece of chewing gum, which he had already chewed.

It's a piece of winterfrost flavoured Eclipse and it's attached to its original packet for extra convenience.

Making the most out of the situation, Matt has decided to put the piece of gum up for auction, raising money for The Alzheimer's Society.

He tweeted a picture of the chewing gum, captioned with: “All proceeds to charity - I'm selling Ryan Goslings Chewing Gum he left in the ‪@VirginRadioUK studio - please RT!”

Disgusting, right? But we kind of want to place a bid at the same time…

You can bid for the gum here.

The bid is currently at £11.00 after 12 bids (as of the morning of 13 January), but with six days to go – who knows what it might achieve.

"It's been very well chewed and probably has little of the original minty taste. Be warned if you decide to buy this to chew yourself, he wasn't very well when he came into the studio," Matt wrote on the eBay page for this very special piece of gum.

"Unless you want to catch the lurgy from Gosling, that is.

“All of the money from the sale will be donated to The Alzheimer’s Society.”
