“I can’t have it both ways”: The Voice’s Ricky Wilson splits from girlfriend of five years

Ricky Wilson off The Voice and the Kaiser Chiefs is single, ladies.

He spoke to Fabulous magazine and explained how fame interfered with his five-year relationship with ex-girlfriend Lesley Williams, a TV producer.

Ricky’s publicist confirmed to the magazine that the pair have now split up.

"I took the risk of putting myself out there and I knew it was going to change me," he said.

"I feel quite uncomfortable that I dragged someone else in who didn't want that.

"It's a huge part of my life and I find it tricky. I can't have it both ways."

“Dolly Parton’s got it right, hasn’t she?” he continued, indicating Dolly’s 50-year marriage – to a man who nobody knows anything about, called Carl Dean.

No, we have no idea how Dolly’s managed to keep her bloke such a secret for so long – but hats off to her.

“I just feel bad about opening someone up to being in the public eye,” Ricky continued.

Although if your name isn’t Ruby then that would be quite weird.
