Cara Delevingne has opened up in a frank interview about why she quit modelling, and the seedier side of the industry.

Cara, who has fronted campaigns for Burberry and Topshop, said that the stress made her physically ill and she was treated like a lepor for it.

Speaking to The Times the 23-year-old model-turned-actress said: "I am not doing fashion work any more, after having, like, psoriasis and all that stuff.

"Modelling just made me feel a bit hollow after a while. It didn't make me grow at all as a human being. And I kind of forgot how young I was... I felt so old.

"People would put on gloves and not want to touch me because they thought it was, like, leprosy or something.

"I was, like, fight and flight for months. Just constantly on edge. It is a mental thing as well because if you hate yourself and your body and the way you look, it just gets worse and worse."

The British model, who has recently starred in romantic flick, *Paper Towns, *and made up part of the ensemble cast of *Suicide Squad, *has slammed the fashion industry for pressuring young girls to pose naked, and putting them in a position where they can't say no.

She continued: "I am a bit of a feminist and it makes me feel sick.

"It's horrible and it's disgusting. [We're talking about] young girls. You start when you are really young and you do get subjected to... not great stuff."

Well, we're glad you're away from it now, Cara. But that does sound like worrying stuff for those still involved.
