Now you may be thinking, why oh why write a song about something if you're too embarrassed to actually sing the words? This question should perhaps be posed to Call Me Maybe singer Carly Rae Jepsen, who has recently written a song about masturbation. CRJ has given her masturbation song to an unnamed Chinese act, so basically when we hear a Chinese song about masturbation we'll know it was hers anyway. She may aswell have got a bit of extra publicity and made a bit more cash out of it, no?

Carly wrote The Masturbation Song as we shall now be naming it, with songwriter Bonnie McKee but thought better of including it on her third album as she thought the lyrics were too explicit. She told NY radio show Zach Sang & The Gang: "We got in the room and we were both in a really weird mood and we wrote a song about, basically being alone... Trying to find a delicate way to say this. It rhymes with contemplation." When the word 'masturbation' was suggested, Carly responded with: "Thank you! I couldn't say it myself. Anyways, about five minutes into it I was like, 'You know this isn't making my album right?' and we were like, 'Well, whatever, let's just go with it'."

If she can't even face saying the word, there was no hope for her singing it anyway, right?
