Caroline Flack cried after suffering online abuse for The X Factor appearance

Caroline Flack has opened up about the abuse she received on social media after presenting The X Factor.

The television host cried after the first live show of the series last year which she fronted along with former contestant Olly Murs.

She told the Daily Mirror: “You can think social media is real life but you have to remember it’s not.

“Someone wouldn’t come up to you in the street and say, ‘You’re big, fat and ugly,’ yet they find it really easy to say online.”

However, the star is not going to let any trolls get her down and insists she is going to stand strong against bullies.

She said: “I can have the worst day ever but I’ll post the happiest picture of myself.

“My life is like a sad film. I cried after the first live Sunday night.

“The reaction was quite overwhelming because I didn’t think people would be talking about how I look, how I stand, how I walk or how I laugh.”
