The sun’s out and brought with it the annoying commuters (and their repulsive un-pedicured feet in sandals – we’re looking at you, bloke on the bus) and you’ve just heard the third (or fourth) song predicted as the “summer 2015 anthem” – but LUCKILY there’s some good news on the horizon: LOVE ISLAND IS BACK!
Just in case you’ve been living on an actual island for the last few years, the dating show – which first aired in 2005 – saw celebs looking for romance living together on an exotic isle, but the new show will see members of the public jetting off instead.
The first series saw the likes of Calum Best, Abi Titmuss, er, Rebecca Loos and “former Westlife bodyguard” Fran Cosgrave battle it out to win. The second season boasted the return of Calum, as well as his future CBB buddy Alicia Douvall, which was fun.
The new look Love Island series, which will hit our TV screens later this year, will be hosted by Caroline Flack and see contestants win over each other as well as the general public.
The role will be Caroline’s return to ITV following her stint on the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing… but what does this mean for those X Factor rumours?
The presenter has been tipped to take over Dermot O’Leary’s spot on The X Factor, with her Xtra Factor co-presenter Olly Murs stating that he would only front the main show with Caroline by his side.
Anyway, Cazza said: "I can't wait to host the revamped Love Island. I was a massive fan of the original show, and I'm sure this is going to be one crazy, love-fuelled island.
"I can't really think of a better way to spend a summer - here's hoping it's a scorcher!"
