After announcing that she was seven months pregnant with their first child back in February, Ellie Goulding's husband Caspar Jopling has confirmed she's given birth to their first child.
The new parents are keeping their little one's name and gender under wraps for now, with Caspar asking for "privacy" during "this magical and personal moment".
"Mum and baby both healthy and happy :) Extremely grateful," he wrote on Instagram.
“I don’t ever address the public attention that comes with Ellie’s job, but during this magical and personal moment we would really appreciate being able to enjoy our privacy - Thank you x.”

Far from crossing paths on the celebrity-studded dating app Raya, Ellie and Caspar were actually introduced by a mutual friend (rumoured to be Princess Eugenie) in 2016.
Speaking of the first time they met, Ellie said, “It's not a particularly exciting story, sadly. It wasn't a love at first sight thing at all. We didn't fancy each other at all. We were just sat next to each other at dinner.”
In May of that year, the couple appeared to go Instagram official when Caspar posted some pictures of their romantic weekend, captioning the post, “Weekend of art, Ricky Gervais and stodgy mushroom pate.”

Mum Jayne Warde-Aldam remarried Charles Andrew Warde-Aldam in 1997, and his dad, the Hon Nicholas Jopling sits in the House of Lords as a member of the Conservative Party, like his father before him (and Caspar’s granddad, Thomas Michael Jopling).

Despite the fact they’re, well, proper rich, the Jopling’s are not quite royalty, although with British nobility, you never really know, do you? His parents have aristocratic ties and his mum and stepdad live in a Grade II listed building in Yorkshire called Frickley Hall, built around 1750.
