Cate Blanchett’s family has just got a little bit bigger following news that the actress has adopted a baby.
Cate and husband Andrew Upton announced the news earlier today.
Her rep told Us Weekly: "The Upton family (Cate Blanchett and Andrew Upton) have adopted a baby girl. No further details will be provided."
Cate, 45, and husband Andrew have been married since 1997 and are already parents to sons Dashiell, 13, Roman, 10, and Ignatius, 6.
Judging by those stellar names we can only imagine what the couple have named their baby girl- something equally as awesome!
The Oscar-winning Aussie previously said she prioritised family over her work, though has managed to do a great job in both areas of her life by the looks of things.
She told The Times in 2010: "All I can think about is what I've gained.
"I've had to say no to things because I was pregnant, but then I had a baby, so it didn't seem like a sacrifice. I'm quite fatalistic — if something doesn't happen, then something else will.
"It has to work for my family, otherwise I can't do the job."
