It caused quite the stir when Cannes Film Festival officials released a statement regarding how celebrities dressed for the red carpet. Essentially banning any hint of nudity that had crept in over previous years, stylists were aghast.
And while celebs did abide by the new rules, they then began asking themselves, what’s better than getting all dressed-up and donning your best look on the red carpet? Answer? Not getting all dressed up! Yes, the naked dress trend is very much back and taking over the illustrious star-studded carpets all over the globe once more.
Entertainers who possess a posterior to rival all others are now ensuring that they get as much camera time as their own faces. It’s not just free the nipple, it’s accessorise the nipple with some sheer panelling and a couple of gems. These ladies got it oh so right and they need to be celebrated.
Margot Robbie
Just in case you forgot, 'everybody needs good neighbours' and as former Neighbours star turned uber A-list actress Margot Robbie affirms, good neighbours know how to rock a red carpet. As press tour outfits go, it was always going to be incredibly hard for Margot to top her bubble gum pink real life Barbie tour BUT with just one outfit for the London premiere of her latest film, A big Bold Beautiful Journey, she blew that tour out of the water.
And being Hollywood’s darling, Margot’s back and bum bearing dress, from the late Giorgio Armani’s final collection was not only a bold statement for her but a tribute to a great. Maybe it really is only Barbie that could look as sensational just 10 months after having her baby boy, but we’re so impressed we might actually be sick.

Recently engaged Brit actor, Florence Pugh has long flown the flag of body confidence freeing her nipple on several occasions. And while we all know she should have been wildly applauded, she received widespread criticism of the pink Valentino gown she donned to the labels haute couture show in 2022. Life will get a whole lot easier, I promise.' It’s no surprise then that Flo once again freed her fantastic figure on the Vanity Fair red carpet in a sheer Simone Rocha gown just two years later. Oh, and did we mention she looked beyond beautiful.

At 2025’s MTV Video Music Awards, Swedish bombshell Zara Larsson showed that a perfectly placed flower can hide all the lady garden you need. The twenty-seven-year-old looked incredible as she showcased the work of Irish designer Sorcha O'Raghallaigh who had adorned the mesh fabric with jewels galore in the custom-made outfit.
And in what no doubt was a LOT of work, O'Raghallaigh said, 'The flowers were made entirely from scratch,' adding, 'We hand-made tulle petals, stretched and hand-stitched with wire.' However, while we might not that we know what happened at the MTV afterparty we do know what she does with her free time, 'If I have a day off, I'll get up at three in the afternoon and make some noodles. I fix my makeup and then party until 5 A.M.'

She might be romancing 1D heartthrob, Harry Styles but before the world’s coolest couple were galavanting across the globe together, Zoe Kravitz ensured that on the Vanity Fair Oscar red carpet earlier this year, the photographer’s lens was pointing in one direction only- her derriere! If you would like to attempt to make this dress yourself then you need to set aside 675 hours as that’s how long it took to make.
Miley has often spoken about her love of wearing what some might see as a daring outfit, saying, 'My dad would rather I’d have my tits out and be a good person than have my shirt on and be a bitch.'
