Charlotte Crosby's brave interview in this week's heat magazine has provoked an unprecedented wave of support for the Geordie Shore star – our Facebook page has been filled with positive messages and we've been getting tweet after tweet from people passing on their love to her.

But what prompted Charlotte to go public with the news of her traumatic ectopic pregnancy? And with the news that she's just quit Geordie Shore, where does this leave things with Gary Beadle?

On the phone with heat Radio's Emily Segal, Charlotte admitted her emotional interview felt "like a weight lifted off my shoulders".

"It was really hard. It's been about two months now that I've been sitting with that just hanging over us," she said.

"And it was hard seeing everything that was wrote about us and all the nasty comments from nasty girls on Twitter. And I was just sitting with that weighing on my shoulders and it's just nice that everyone knows now."

Charlotte continued: "If anything I just wanted everyone to know so that – I was more sick of everyone being like, 'I feel so sorry for Gary, try and sort it out' because I was thinking that's the last thing I ever want for the rest of my life to ever talk to him again.

"I've still got people tweeting us saying they want us to be together and I just want to finally put this to bed and for all this to be completely over, because that's all I want now. I don't want to be associated with him. And I hope finally that people will be able to respect that."

She added: "The support's been really overwhelming – I'm getting a little bit choked up just talking about it."
