The return of Geordie Shore to our screens was always going to be laced with controversy, but none of us could have predicted the fall out from last night’s episode.

Geordie star Charlotte Crosby entertained her cast mates by dressing up as a carrot to sing ‘happy birthday’ to a lovely ginger man. After she revealed that she thought ‘gingers were extinct’ she received a bit of a redheaded backlash on Twitter.

One fan wrote on Twitter: "Charlotte mugging off my ginger army! World war 3 has commenced! #GingerArmy #GeordieShore"

Another commented: “#geordieshore how rude about ginger people !!!!!!!!!!!!”

It looks like the 24-year-old star has a bit of damage control to sort out in order to fix her relations with her ginger fans!
