Charlotte Dawson resolutely put her heartbreak aside to give her son Jude a birthday to remember last week. The reality star put on a brave face to celebrate her little boy turning one, after being left “devastated” when she discovered her fiancé Matt Sarsfield had allegedly sent “secret dirty texts” to another woman.

Charlotte, 31, revealed, “I was in complete shock and devastated. I’m hurt, upset and disappointed about the situation. My only focus right now is on my beautiful boys, as they are my main priority.”

Rugby player Matt, 32, was accused of sending intimate messages to his former teammate’s ex-girlfriend, Emily Louise Hodgkinson, who said, “I feel so sorry for Charlotte. How could he that to her?” Despite her heartbreak, Charlotte – who also shares three-year-old son Noah with the Rugby League player – smiled as she was filmed getting her hair and make-up done for the Peter Rabbit-themed birthday party. “My beautiful Jude’s first birthday. Such an incredible day full of fun,” she shared.

However, Charlotte was later left in tears once again after Matt “ruined” Jude’s special day by skipping the party.

“Matt walked out on Charlotte and the kids after she confronted him about his texts to another woman. She thought hewould show up for Jude’s birthday, but he didn’t,” the insider said. “Charlotte was very upset all day. There were lots of tears, but her friends and family were rallying around her.”

Charlotte and Matt met in November 2016 and have been engaged for four years, after he proposed next to the statue of her late dad, comic Les Dawson, in September 2020.

“Friends are angry that Charlotte has been publicly humiliated by Matt’s actions,” a source said. “She’s been totally blindsided by these revelations. To say she is hurt is an understatement, and it’s unclear where the relationship stands at the moment."

They add, “Right now, Charlotte is trying to get her head around his actions. She’s always stood by Matt, despite some ups and downs in their relationship, and Matt is not just her fiancé, he’s her best mate, so this news has been a very hard pill to swallow.”
