Former Girls Aloud star Cheryl recently revealed how she was longing for more children, saying she’s open to using a sperm donor to give her two-year-old son Bear Payne a sibling, as the thought of having only one child is “unimaginable” to her.
And pals reveal that Cheryl, who turns 36 this week, is weighing up all her options, as she’d like her family to be complete before she’s 40.
A source told Closer, “Turning 36 has got her thinking she needs to make a decision about baby number two. She doesn’t want the age gap between Bear and his sibling to be too big, and she’d love to have a couple more kids before she’s 40.”
And while Cheryl, who shares Bear with ex-boyfriend Liam Payne, has said that she adores motherhood, the singer candidly admitted she “hated being pregnant” – with insiders saying she’s now considering surrogacy as one of her options and is turning to her pals, the Kardashians, for advice.
The family’s most famous member, Kim, 38 – who’s married to Kanye West, 41 – used a surrogate to carry her youngest children, Chicago, 17 months, and seven-week-old Psalm, following complications in her pregnancies with North, five, and three-year-old Saint.
A source says, “The fact that Cheryl is looking into surrogacy may shock her friends, but she is considering all of her options. She’s really broody and has been telling friends she wants to know more about surrogacy. ”
The Love Made Me Do It singer struck up an unlikely friendship with Kim’s younger sister Khloé, 34, after meeting at a Kanye concert in Las Vegas in 2013 – with Khloé branding Cheryl her “soul sister”, amid reports of the pair bonding over their painful love splits.
Cheryl had endured a bitter divorce from first husband, Ashley Cole, three years earlier, while Khloé later announced she planned to divorce her sportsman husband Lamar Odom over cheating allegations.
Confirming their friendship had stood the test of time, Cheryl congratulated Khloé following the announcement of her pregnancy with now one-year-old daughter True, who she shares with her ex, Tristan Thompson, gushing, “Khloeeee! I could not be happier for you. You gorgeous soul!”
And insiders say the reality star has put her pal in touch with sister Kim for advice on surrogacy.
The source says, “Cheryl and Khloé have supported each other through some tough times and have bonded further over being single mums – with the two catching up for dinners and playdates during Cheryl’s recent trip to LA.
“Cheryl opened up to Khloé, who suggested she explore surrogacy, like Kim. She ended up speaking to Kim about it, who offered to put her in touch with the agency she used.”
