Is Cheryl Cole’s marriage to Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini actually legal?

The spellcheck-bothering Frenchman's full name is Jean-Bernard Justin Antoine Aime Bastien Thierry Fernandez (where does the Versini bit come in?), and that's apparently caused problems for the legality of their marriage.

According to the Sun, the clerk in charge of processing the wedding licence couldn't understand why Jean had so many different monikers - and even wrote "Don't understand bachelor's names" on the side of their legal document.

The newspaper claims it was a mixture of the officiant's handwriting and Jean's hella, HELLA names that led to the confusion.

But could this mean their marriage isn't actually legal yet? Apparently staff at the registry office in Kingstown, St Vincent, need the couple to contact them to put things right.

"We need to know the spelling of his names before we can process the documents and register the marriage," the clerk said.

Meanwhile, the bishop who married the twosome has admitted he didn't know Cheryl was famous - or even divorced - until after the ceremony.

He said Cheryl wore a white wedding dress with a train, while JB donned black trousers and a white shirt for the ceremony.

Neither of the pair seemed nervous or at all emotional during their wedding, which was witnessed by Cheryl's mum Joan and Jean's best man.

The bishop also revealed what Cheryl and Jean-Bernard said in their vows.

"I will be there for you and with you always.

"I promise to cherish you, trust you, comfort and encourage you.

"I promise to be with you and be your confidant, always ready to share your hopes and dreams.

"I promise to grow with you and learn from you in mind and spirit and be faithful to you as long as we both shall live."
