As if being offered £2million for the next series of X Factor wasn’t an ego boost enough, Cheryl’s become the UK’s most successful female solo artist, with five number one singles under her belt.

The star’s new track I Don’t Care - which we’ve been bopping to on repeat at Heat Towers - entered the top spot last night, making her the first British female to have five number ones.

Cheryl’s managed to beat both Geri Halliwell and Rita Ora for the accolade – they’ve both only managed to get four tracks to the top spot. We knew we had better stuff in us as a nation than It's Raining Men.

Still, if the former Girls Aloud singer wants to be crowned supreme Queen Of Pop, she has quite a bit more work to do.

Globally, Madonna’s reigning chart champion, with 13 UK number ones. Then Rihanna has eight and Kylie seven.

We’re not sure if Cheryl could ever rival the greatness of tunes like I Should Be So Lucky or Like A Virgin, but we’d sure like to see her try.
