Remember that song Cheryl Fernandez-Versini did with will.i.am called Heartbreaker in 2009? She was called Cheryl Cole at the time and she sang things like “I’m a heartbreaker, I’m a heartbreaker, I’m a heartbreaker.”
Well, it seems she is quite the heartbreaker – she’s been written out of ex-boyfriend Derek Hough’s autobiography *Take The Lead: Lessons From A Life In Motion *because he’s apparently still totally “devastated” by their split.
A source told The Sun: “Derek honestly thought Cheryl was the one when they were together. He doted on her every word and helped her come back emotionally after her split with Ashley.
“He was also at her bedside morning, noon and night when she suffered her malaria scare after their break to Africa.”
Cheryl dated the professional dancer following her split from her footballer ex-husband Ashley Cole and friends of the Dancing With The Stars pro even expected him to propose to the former Girls Aloud warbler.
Derek has written about his other relationships in the book but has chosen to leave out his romance with Cheryl despite her once calling him her “rock”.
The insider added: “Cheryl had never been treated like that before and adored Derek. However, in 2011 she called time on their love affair when she moved full time back to England.
“Derek was devastated. He tried to win her back, but they never made it work.
“The scars are still there and we think he couldn’t relive the heartache. Derek had kept the relationship a secret in the most part, but sharing his heartache was too much.”
