It's never easy seeing your ex.
So we can't imagine how uncomfortable it would have been if Cheryl bumped into ex-hubby Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini in Cannes.
Luckily, the pair just missed an awks interaction when they partied at a fancy bash - but they were mere metres from each other.
According to The Sun, Liam Payne's girlfriend was walking up the stairs with her entourage at a party while JB was at the bar close-by chatting to some women.
However the Frenchman has claimed that even if they did meet, there'd be no beef.
"I’ve been in Cannes for 15 years," he said. "I came here with about three ex-girlfriends, so it just goes into the same box – there’s nothing weird."

He also dished on his relationship status, adding, "I’m going to be at Cannes with a future girlfriend. And, hopefully, this one will be the right one.
"After solving some personal problems I’m in a very happy place, and… yes, I’m open to something new."

Chezza has been having a ball in Cannes without her bf and their son Bear, wearing a bevvy of fantastic outfits.
But one outfit made up of a striped co-ord and thigh-high leather boots had fans divided.
While some praised her fashion-forward ensemble, another added, "I love Cheryl she is so beautiful but come on girl that outfit is terrible".
