Cheryl Fernandez-Versini – or Cheryl Cole, or even Cheryl Tweedy if you can think back that far – has hit back at her estranged husband after he made a thinly veiled allegation that she cheated on him.
The singer, who has been dating One Direction's Liam Payne since December 2015, took to Twitter to defend herself against the rumours, after The Sun reported that John Bernard Fernandez-Versini was "furious" about Cheryl's relationship timeline with Liam.
"JB has been told that Cheryl was actually seeing Liam in October - two months before they officially split," a source told the newspaper.
"The information comes from people at The X Factor. JB was desperate to save their marriage and is absolutely furious."
But Cheryl tweeted to say the reports were "shit" and blasted those who believed them.
Meanwhile, Liam retweeted a supportive message one of Cheryl's fans had written:
He and Cheryl have kept the beginning of their relationship under wraps, only going public in February 2016.
But they were spotted during the final few weeks of 2015's X Factor, with one video doing the rounds showing them hugging by Cheryl's place at the judges' panel.
According to The Sun, JB is now convinced their romance started back in October – the same month Liam separated from his long-term girlfriend Sophia Smith.
On his private Instagram account over the weekend, he's reported to have written: "I never seen anybody standing up and defend me. I guess because it wasn't in their interest.
"And now suddenly when the truth always come out, certain people that love to say that they don't comment on their private life can't help themselves but to justify themselves which for me seems even more strange."
Crikey.
Meanwhile, Cheryl's rep has told the Metro: "Jean Bernard’s information about when Cheryl started her relationship with Liam is false."
