She’s been on round-the-clock mum duty for over three months now, self-isolating in her Buckinghamshire home with her and Liam Payne’s three-year-old son Bear.
But Cheryl’s about to get a much-needed break because, with the world slowly getting back to normal, she’s calling in some serious daddy daycare.
According to our insider, the singer is desperate for Bear to spend some time with Liam – who’s spoken about how much he’s missed his son during lockdown – and she’s even planning to let her ex look after him for a whole weekend, something we’re told she’s been reluctant to do in the past.
Obviously, her priority is making sure that Bear has quality time with his dad – but if she manages to bag a few lie-ins in the process, even better.”

“Cheryl wants Bear to have a full-time dad,” says an insider close to the singer, who has remained on good terms with Liam since their split in July 2018. “She’s been speaking to him about ‘making up for lost time’ and having longer visits than he usually would. She’s given him a new schedule and a list of things to do, like teaching him how to ride a bike and playing more sport with him. She also wants him to have more overnight visits, so he can have more experience of the evening routine, meals and early mornings.”
As heat has reported, Liam, 26, and Cheryl, 36, struggled to know what the best thing for Bear was at the beginning of lockdown. While some children split their time between two households, the former couple decided it was best for Bear to stay with Cheryl, as Liam – who now lives with model girlfriend Maya Henry, 19 – admitted he’d been “exposed to everything” while living in London. And with the singer continuing to be out and about during lockdown – lending his name to causes close to his heart, including volunteering at a food bank and attending a Black Lives Matter protest earlier this month – he’s had to stick to seeing his son over FaceTime. In April, Liam revealed, “They are very short chats. As you can imagine, a distracted three year old with a phone... it’s been difficult.”

Understandably, then, he’s delighted at finally spending quality time with Bear – especially because Cheryl’s known for being a bit over-protective at times. Last year, Liam said it had been difficult to bond with his son when he was first born as Cheryl was “always really glued” to him.
We’re told, “Liam has really missed Bear and is well up for these new arrangements. His family are also desperate to see Bear, it’s really important for Cheryl that he gets to see his dad and his grandparents. Plus, she’s pretty excited about getting a decent night’s sleep and watching some grown-up TV.”
