Cheryl Cole is desperately trying to fight her soon-to-be-ex-husband's divorce demands before she becomes a mum, heat has learned.
The singer, who has been the centre of pregnancy rumours for the last couple of weeks, is hoping to be free of Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini before she and Liam Payne take their relationship to the next level.
"Cheryl has moved on and is ready to start her new life with Liam. He means everything to her right now," our insider told heat.
"The two of them have both been so broody for ages and Cheryl’s told friends she’d marry him and have his babies, but having JB still hanging around is a horrible reminder of a very expensive, bad mistake she made. He doesn’t seem to want to let her move on, which is what she wants to do before she becomes a mum."
In fact, her husband of 15 months is refusing to sign the divorce docs until the money side of things is sorted, our source continued.
"JB has been dragging the divorce out because he wants to ensure the financial settlement is right and is thinking about writing a book about their relationship. Cheryl is fighting this all the way," they added.
But with Liam pushing Cheryl to just pay JB whatever he wants, it looks like Chiam will soon be free to focus on their future together.

Cheryl, of course, is yet to address the pregnancy rumours, which started when she appeared in a L'Oreal advert looking 'fuller of face', which could literally have been a) makeup b) angles or c) finally feeling happy and secure in herself.
The speculation ramped up again this week when Chez's mum, Joan Callaghan was spotted buying 'pregnancy items' – including one of those super-comfy body pillows – in Mothercare.
Clearly this means that the only person in Joan's life who could possibly need preg-related stuff is Cheryl, because that's how the world works.
