Ex On The Beach star Chloe Goodman has revealed she was told she hours from death after being rushed to hospital with a mystery illness last Saturday.
She was due to undergo an emergency operation that evening, but a series of complications meant she didn't go into surgery until Sunday night.
Now the star has revealed these complications and misdiagnosis could have cost her her life.
Chloe woke up on Saturday in extreme pain and was taken to hospital with suspected appendicitis.
"The pain was excruciating and I was vomiting, so I phoned my mum crying my eyes out, " the CBB star explained to The Sun.
At first the doctors seemed to understand the issue and rushed her into theatre for an emergency operation.
However, Chloe has since revealed that before surgeons were about to operate, one doctor claimed she was suffering from an issue with her ovaries and put the surgery on hold.
"I was arguing with them as I knew it wasn’t my womb or ovaries, but they said they wouldn’t take my word and were just going to do an ultrasound in the morning," Chloe explained.
After the ultrasound, Chloe was told she had fluid and a ruptured cyst but the star insisted she knew her own body and believed this diagnosis was wrong.
One consultant even dismissed the reality TV star's condition as period pain.
Thankfully Chloe persisted and a surgeon did confirm that she was suffering from appendicitis and agreed to perform keyhole surgery, not knowing exactly what they would find.
"When I woke up they told me that not only was my appendix just two hours away from bursting, which would have been deadly and poisoned my organs, but I had a cyst on it double the size that was also about to rupture." She told OK!.
Chloe also explained how they had found internal bleeding in her pelvis, which may have explained the fluid found on the ultrasound and the subsequent misdiagnosis.
Chloe's sister Lauryn has confirmed on her cosmetic brand’s Twitter that she is now recovering.
