Julian Fellowes: act now! Chris Martin wants a cameo in the Downton Abbey Christmas special and we think if it happens, it could be the best thing ever.

Maybe Chris would woo Lady Mary and whisk her away from her current suitors? Or maybe he’d end up as a good friend to poor old Barrow. He needs a mate right now.

Speaking to Christian O’Connell on his Absolute Radio Breakfast Show this morning, Chris (along with his Coldplay bandmate Jonny Buckland) revealed he’d be well up for a part in the show, saying he could come in as a “guest piano tuner”.

And he’s even got the accent down, saying to Christian in his best Yorkshire dialect: “Oh, regular tuning, sir.”

Check out the video and let us know what you think of his audition.

As Chris says, “it’s not too late” for Julian to get him in the Christmas Special. It’s not, Julian. DO IT NOW, PLEASE.

The modern day Cora would lovvvvve this chic feather shift. We love Elizabeth's clashing accessories too - her mono striped clutch and burgundy heels stop her frock looking too ladylike
