It’s now been a whole entire week since it was confirmed that yes, love indeed is a lie, as Chris Pratt and Anna Faris split up.
Taking to their respective Twitter and Instagram pages, they issued a joint statement which read: "Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed.
"Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward.
"We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another.
“Chris Pratt and Anna Faris."
Chris has now made his first public appearance since the announcement, picking up the Choice Sci-Fi Movie Actor Award for his role in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.2 at last night’s Teen Choice Awards.
The award was presented to him by Millie Bobby Brown, Maddie Ziegler and Grace VanderWaal, who he later posed for a picture with.
During his acceptance speech, he said: "Wow. Thank you! I love you, too. Thank you! What an honour and a privilege to be here at the Teen Choice Awards. Thank you, Millie, Maddie, Grace. Give it up for the gals."
He also said: "When I came to Los Angeles, I came from Hawaii and I had all of this blonde hair and I was tan and I met an agent because I really wanted to be an actor and get an agent and he said, 'Wow. Bro you must surf?' And I said 'Yeah' and that was the first of many lies I told to get where I am today. Thank you.
"I would not be here with the ease and grace I have in my heart without my lord and saviour, Jesus Christ.”
It has now been reported by TMZ that the reason for their split could be because Anna wanted to expand their family, while Chris wanted to travel and make new films.
A source told the publication: "When he married Anna back in 2009, she was much bigger than him. He's now at the top of the Hollywood food chain, and with that comes opportunities that take him all over the world, shooting movies that take him away from home for months at a time.
"And he doesn't want more kids at least not in the foreseeable future, because he can't juggle a growing family with his career."
