Christopher Maloney was rushed to hospital earlier this week with suspected deep vein thrombosis following cosmetic surgery in Poland.
The X Factor star had flown home to Liverpool and woke up on Tuesday morning having lost the feeling in one leg, and covered in purple and yellow bruises.
"Chris was absolutely terrified and got to hospital as soon as he could,” a source told *The Sun *online.
"Doctors gave him some blood-thinning drugs and after some observation time, sent him home to recover.
"He can’t stop thinking about how lucky he was – there are so many horror stories about DVT clots travelling in to the heart or lungs.
"It’s a killer."
His management company said: “Our client @ChrisMaloney77 would like to thank everyone for their kind messages of support & hopes to be at full health soon.”
Christopher had a hair transplant and surgeries on his eyelids and nose in Poland, and is reported to have spent £80,000 on cosmetic treatments over the years.
He and his pal former EastEnder Danniella Westbrook had been in Poland together, where she underwent a full face, neck and eyelift.
She later begged her buddy not to talk about her surgery in public.
Danni has also called on her friend Big Brother star Lisa Appleton to deny that she’s in relationship with Danni’s son, Kai, after snaps emerged of the pair apparently canoodling.
