Claudia Winkleman missed Strictly Come Dancing last weekend after her daughter Matilda was caught in a fire whilst trick or treating for Halloween.
The BBC show host’s eight-year-old is said to have sustained serious burns after her costume caught fire.
It is not known if Claudia was with her daughter at the time or if the television presenter will be back on the ballroom dance contest this weekend.
In a statement, Claudia and her film producer husband Kris Thykier, said: “Our daughter was involved in an accident on Friday night while celebrating Halloween.
“She is having the best care possible and we are hopeful of a full recovery.
“We would like to thank everyone that has been so supportive and particularly the NHS doctors, nurses and staff who have been absolutely incredible.
“We would like to take this opportunity to remind anyone taking part in fireworks parties or Guy Fawkes celebrations to be vigilant about the dangers of candles, open fires and fireworks and to please have the appropriate safety measures in place and to hand. Thank you.”
On Saturday, the host of Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two, Zoe Ball, replaced Claudia, with a BBC spokesperson announcing she would not be fronting the programme that evening.
They said: “Claudia can’t be with us tonight. One of her children is unwell, we wish them a speedy recovery.
“Zoe Ball from It Takes Two will be stepping in to co-host with Tess.”
Claudia and husband Kris, who got married in 2000, have three children together – Jake, Arthur and Matilda – and Claudia joined Strictly alongside Tess Daly this series after Bruce Forsyth retired.
