Nothing calls for an almighty blowout like surviving three weeks in the I’m A Celebrity jungle and finishing in second place. And according to our insider, that is precisely what Coleen Rooney is organising during the festive season, particularly to make up for lost time with her four boys, Kai, 15, Klay, 11, Kit, eight, and Cass, six.
We’re told, ‘Coleen plans to go completely OTT for Christmas and make it up to the kids for being away for so long. She wants to have a huge party before or in between Christmas and New Year for all her friends and family to celebrate her I’m A Celeb stint. There will be no expense spared, and she’s said that she’s not going to deny herself anything over the festive period. She will be inviting some of her jungle campmates – they’ll all be desperate to get an invite and party in the common bar!’
During one of many candid chats around the campfire while on the ITV show, Coleen, 38, had her co-stars hanging off her every word as she regaled them with a verbal tour of the £20 million Cheshire mansion she shares with husband, retired England football legend Wayne Rooney, 39.
She told her jungle pals, ‘We have a few bars… We have a common bar which is like if people come back late, we'll have that and we use that for parties. It goes out onto the garden so we can open it up. Then we've got, off the dining room, the posh bar.’ As Oti Mabuse and Dean McCullough listened in disbelief, Coleen continued, ‘We’ve got a football pitch outside. We’ve got an underground tunnel that links back to that.’
Childhood sweethearts Coleen and Wayne – who have been married for 16 years – moved into their sprawling six-bedroom pad in 2021, which also boasts a home cinema, indoor swimming pool and a stable area with space for 14 horses. With the idyllic hosting home said to be transforming into a mini Santa’s Grotto for Christmas, it sounds as though the Rooneys’ party guests are in for a treat.
Our source close to the mum of four – who revealed in the jungle that her go-to tipple is a vodka and Pepsi Max – continues, ‘The Rooneys certainly know how to throw a party – Coleen lives for them and would throw one for any occasion. She admitted in her book that she stopped organising them during her court drama with Becky [Vardy] but there’s no stopping her now. She’ll get the best caterers in and the drinks will be flowing, with champagne and her favourite pale rosé on arrival. She even wants to do a vodka fountain as it’s her party drink of choice - along with cans of Pepsi Max! She’ll get a live band in to entertain everyone, and may even ask Danny [Jones] to do a few songs. Everyone will be desperate for an invite.’
As heat previously told you, Coleen – who has mostly shied away from the limelight over the past 15 years as she’s focused on being a stay-at-home mum – is keen to start putting herself first when it comes to career opportunities, with Jane Moore and Ruth Langsford calling for her to join the Loose Women panel.
And after she received an overwhelmingly positive reaction on I’m A Celeb – with her Wagatha rival Becky even remarking on her ‘fab series’ – our insider says that the Christmas bash is a way for Coleen to mark the start of a brand new chapter with her loved ones. ‘Coleen will use this party to finally draw a line under the Wagatha drama and relaunch Coleen 2.0,’ we’re told. ‘After Christmas, she normally goes away somewhere hot, but she just wants to be in her own home, enjoy the luxuries, and catch up with everyone.’
