Ever since Coleen Rooney sensationally accused “Rebekah Vardy’s account” of leaking stories about her, the two WAGs have been at war – and, despite over six months of legal battles, it doesn’t look like ending any time soon.
Becky is demanding a public apology, which Coleen may have to give her, but we’re told this U-turn doesn’t mean she’s forgiven Becky– she still wants revenge.

“Coleen has had such a bad week – she’s absolutely furious with frustration. The legal teams have been thrashing things out in a bid to keep the case out of public court, and Coleen has been advised that she may have to throw the towel in and give Rebekah the apology she is demanding,” our insider says. “Rebekah has always furiously denied the claims and maintained that lots of people have access to her Instagram account. Coleen has been warned it will be very hard to prove otherwise, so may have to give Rebekah the public apology she is demanding.
“Coleen feels like Rebekah has got one up on her and is so angry, as she still thinks she’s right. She swears she won’t forget this – this war is not over. Friends say that Coleen isn’t one to let go of a grudge and is likely to carry this around until she can settle the score.”
It was claimed last week that the two women were set to come face-to-face via a Zoom meeting to try to avoid a costly and high-profile court case, and that Becky – wife of footballer Jamie – would only settle for a public apology.

Coleen – who’s married to former England captain Wayne – became friendly with 38-year-old Becky when their husbands played for England in Euro 2016. With Coleen the undisputed queen of the WAGs, newcomer Becky was thrilled to be let into her inner circle and allowed to follow her private Instagram account. But last year, Coleen noticed stories from there being leaked, so set up her own investigation by only allowing one account to watch her Stories, which was Becky’s.
She posted her findings on social media and Becky – who was “heavily pregnant” with her fifth child at the time – quickly reacted, denying it and slating Coleen for publicly accusing her without asking her first.
Earlier this year, during an appearance on Loose Women, a tearful Becky said the ordeal was, “Probably up there with one of the worst things that I have had to deal with, apart from being abused when I was younger.” She also said the spat caused her to be hospitalised with anxiety and kidney stones. But Coleen, 34, was not impressed and released a statement, saying she remained “confident in the legal process”.
However, Coleen may have to admit defeat as it would be too hard to prove it was actually Becky. She’s also worried Becky may then give interviews on her side of the story.
“Coleen is very proud, and these things matter to her. She can’t believe she may have to give a public apology,” we’re told. “It’s all blown up in her face, and she’s raging. She’s been made to look such a fool.”
