Hermione Granger would definitely be proud – Harry Potter actress Emma Watson has graduated from Brown University!

Emma posted a picture of herself in her mortarboard cap and gown on Twitter today after graduating with a degree in English Literature from Brown in the USA. Emma started her course back in 2009 but announced after 18 months that she was deferring her course ‘for a semester or two’ and ended up enrolling at Worcester College, Oxford as a visiting student for 2011 and 2012.

Emma spoke to Ellen DeGeneres in March about her upcoming graduation, explaining that her degree took her five years to complete instead of four as she “ended up taking two full semesters off” due to her hectic acting schedule.

Emma is in good company – according to the New York Daily News she has graduated alongside 2000 graduates from the Ivy League university. Well done Emma!
