Sound the baby news klaxon! Coronation Street star Paula Lane has just announced that she’s expecting her first child with husband Tom Shaw.

The 28-year-old actress – who plays Kylie Platt in the ITV soap – shared the news with her followers on Twitter, revealing the she’s due around Christmas time.

“@SirTomShaw and I are thrilled to announce we have a Christmas pud in the oven! SURPRISE!,” she wrote online.

Paula and childhood sweetheart Tom married two weeks ago at Leeds Cathedral, and Corrie castmates including Jane Danson, Helen Worth, Catherine Tyldesley and screen husband David Platt aka Jack P. Shepherd all attended.

There must be something in the water on the Corrie set, because Paula’s co-star Jennie McAlpine – who plays Fiz Staple – also recently announced that she was expecting a baby with her partner Chris Farr.

“We have some news to share. Chris and I are expecting an addition to our family. Very happy x” the actress tweeted.

These things always happen in threes – who’ll be the next* Corrie* star to announce a pregnancy we wonder?
