To celebrate the release of McBusted’s new DVD, Live At The O2 and Tourplay, we’ve got the smashing fellas – Tom Fletcher, James Bourne, Danny Jones, Harry Judd, Matt Willis and Dougie Poynter – to take it in turns to tell us a secret in the run up to the release on 24 November.
So here’s Dougie telling us about the time the McBusted boys nearly died.
What happened? What happened to our dear, sweet Dougie and co. on their last tour? It all happened while the guys were in a lift that was meant to take them up to their spaceship. Yep, really.
But then, DISASTER STRUCK, and the lift was almost tipped over, which according to Dougie, “Would have been really embarrassing, as they hadn’t even started the tour then”.
It would have been more than embarrassing, Dougie. It would have been a tragedy. Plus, what a lame way to go, falling of a lift, perhaps followed by being crushed by a massive inflatable pair of triple boobs. Nightmare.
Much better that Dougie survived, to tell the hilarious tale and end up dating Ellie Goulding.
Yep, that sounds much better.
So what can we expect from the boys’ DVD? Well apart from their awesome tunes, including Year 3000, all About you, Crashed The Wedding, and Shine A Light, you better be prepared for some amazing stuff.

The McBusted guys allow a behind the scenes view of one of the biggest musical events of recent years and a chance to get up close and personal in a series of honest and revealing interviews. This is a film that really gets under the skin of what it’s like to be part of the world’s ultimate supergroup.
