Dane Bowers accused of ‘assault’

First, Katie Price airs Dane Bowers’ dirty laundry on national television in Celebrity Big Brother, and now the Big Reunion star is being accused of assault.

Bowers has been accused of allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Sophia Cahill, just six weeks after the couple ended their two-year relationship.

According to The Sun, the former Miss Wales is believed to have reported the musician to the police over an incident which took place at his parents' home on January 29.

Despite the claims, Dane’s pals are protesting his innocence. Speaking to the newspaper, a friend said: ''This does not sound like Dane because he is a gent around women.''

Although the star has not yet been questioned by police, they have confirmed they are looking into the incident.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said: ''Officers from the Croydon Community Safety Unit are investigating an allegation of domestic assault.''

Dane himself has yet to comment on the claims, though he did post a cryptic tweet on Friday evening.
