Celebrity Big Brother star Daniel O'Reilly aka Dapper Laughs made the most of his time in the spotlight as he proposed to his girlfriend Shelley Rae after becoming the eight housemate to be evicted from the CBB 2018 house.

Following his exit interview with host Emma Willis, Daniel took the opportunity to pop the question.

Turning to Shelley, he said: "When I was in the house, every day I was regretting that I've never asked you this so, will you marry me?"

The controversial comedian proposed using a ring his fellow housemate, Ginuwine, had made in the house.

"Sorry about the ring, Ginuwine made it for me. We'll trade it in for better paper," he explained.

Shelley - who recently gave birth to the couple's first child, a daughter called Neve - broke down in tears as Emma congratulated them.

Daniel also explained: "I hope I have just shown enough of myself in there to get back on my platform and use it for better things.”

Speaking about his fellow housemates, and whether he thought he would lose out to Shane J aka Courtney Act, Daniel said: “Yes, I think Courtney stands for a lot more in regards to the format of the show and that’s important. I think she is the only one in the house who just about topped me.”

Last night's triple eviction saw Andrew Brady and Jonny Mitchel become the sixth and seventh house mates to be voted out of the house.
