Victoria Beckham’s delight over David’s hair loss

Let’s face it, we’re all having hair issues at the moment. But someone we didn’t expect to be looking follicly challenged quite so soon is David Beckham, who was pictured last week with noticeably thinning hair.

Heading to the shops with his eight-year-old daughter Harper, the 45 year old’s famously luscious locks were in short supply. And while Victoria and David have often been cited as one of the world’s best-looking couples, we’re told someone is actually a little bit pleased at this new development.

“Vic is secretly quite happy about this,” an insider tells heat. “The lifestyle of constant travel and late nights – as well as currently being a stay-at-home dad doing the home schooling – is finally showing. For a guy who’s been branded a sex god most of his life, he now looks like a normal bloke in his mid-forties with all the same ageing issues.”

And while you might think Victoria, 46, would be keen to help her husband out in the beauty department, we’re told, “Vic’s actually thrilled that David is not as hot as he used to be – because she hopes it means that fewer women will be throwing themselves at him.”

It’s no secret that dad-of-four David has always been popular with the ladies, and it seems Victoria is not displeased at the prospect of having less of them eyeing him up.

In 2010, Victoria spoke about David’s good looks eventually fading. In an interview, she quipped about their relationship, “What’s David’s role? David looks good, that’s what David does. David looks good, and I’m the funny one, that’s what I hear constantly. But I keep telling him that looks fade.”

David was rumoured to have had a hair transplant back in 2018, after suddenly sporting a fuller hairline. And while we’re told Becks is not exactly keen on his new look, it seems he won’t be revisiting the hair clinic.

“After he saw the pictures, David did get a bit of a shock, and spent a while looking in the mirror,” our insider reveals. “There was a bit of banter about it from his friends, but ultimately he can shrug it off – he won’t be rushing to get a hair transplant. He knows this is part of getting older and something you just need to come to terms with.”

Even with access to all the best beauty and cosmetic treatments money can buy, our source explains that the biggest issue for David seems to be that he’s simply not immune to stress.

“Vic always buys various moisturising creams, vitamins and collagen drinks for David, but it’s dealing with lockdown and other stresses they’ve been under that have been affecting him most,” we’re told.

“For David, it’s worrying about the future of his Miami football club, Vic’s furlough crisis, being separated from Brooklyn [their eldest son, who’s in the US with his girlfriend] and having to become teachers. He jokes that is what’s really given him grey hairs – doing maths homework with the kids.”
