David Beckham has reached out to Lamar Odom and his family and friends with a touching message of support.

Taking to Instagram this afternoon, David wrote “stay strong brother” against a picture of the basketball star.

He’s the latest in a number of athletes who have tweeted and Instagrammed supportive messages for Lamar, who remains comatose since his collapse in a Nevada brothel on Tuesday.

More reports have emerged of Lamar’s condition, including claims that his heart stopped several times and had to be restarted with a defibrillator in the ambulance on his way to hospital.

More news:

Some US publications are also suggesting Lamar suffered several mini strokes overnight, and that yesterday his organs were starting to fail.

There has been no official response from Lamar’s team since yesterday, when his rep said the sportsman’s friends and family were “extremely concerned” and appealed for their privacy.

Lamar has been visited by his not-quite-ex-wife Khloe Kardashian, her mum Kris Jenner, sister Kim and ex-partner Liza Morales, as well as their two children together.

Civil rights activist Reverend Jesse Jackson also called in to sit with Lamar, and told reporters outside the hospital that Khloe was looking after her ex.

“It was a great joy to see her giving him embraces, giving him care and being by his side,” he said.

“She’s strong and she’s hopeful and she’s acting and loving and by his side.”

“[She is] so serious and when he does wake up, he will see her right there in the room with him.

“We’re just holding hands and hoping he can bounce back,” he added.
