Inside the Beckhams’ last family holiday before their lives change forever

Seeing pictures of the Beckham family splashing about in the sea last week, they looked like any other family enjoying a holiday together. Brooklyn, 21, Romeo, 17, and 15-year-old Cruz were pictured swimming and chatting to each other in the water, while their little sister, nine-year-old Harper, clung on to dad David.

The Beckhams had travelled to Greece – together with Victoria’s parents, sister and her children – and we’re told this was a particularly emotional trip for Posh.

“Victoria feels like she’s making up for some lost time – and lost holidays – with this one last trip of the summer to Greece,” says an insider close to the Beckhams, who have already enjoyed a vacay in Italy.

“She wanted all her close family on the holiday, because she’s feeling nostalgic and is already anxious about the change coming her way. This time next year, Brooklyn will be married, living in America and probably starting his own family. And the kids are all growing up so fast, so she saw this as the last time to really bring them all together, like this, just as they are. Money was no issue and they spent around £500,000 on a private jet for everyone, a top-of-the-range villa, new outfits and meals out. But it was worth it.”

Brooklyn’s fiancée – 25-year-old Nicola Peltz – was also on the trip with them, and Vic was keen to show off some of her new fashion designs on the willing model. Sharing a sunset picture of Nicola and Brooklyn, Victoria wrote, “The sweetest couple at sunset [Brooklyn] and [Nicola] looking so amazing in the #VBPAW20 rose print dress!”

And it was clear Victoria, 46, was thrilled to have her family back together, after Brooklyn had initially been quarantining in the US with Nicola’s parents, before heading back to the UK in July. She shared a picture of Brooklyn with his brothers and father with the caption, “My boys are back together”, and our source explains she feels she’s running out of time with her sons.

“Victoria wanted this quality time with her kids,” we’re told. “She missed Brooklyn so much during lockdown and now he’s gearing up to live full-time in the States, she’s starting to feel empty nest syndrome – especially as Romeo is now starting to spread his wings. She wishes she could keep them at this age forever, so it was particularly special for her to have this time with all her babies.”

But it seems there are other reasons why Victoria found this holiday particularly emotional. “Victoria has been a bit up and down – her business empire is really struggling, and she’s been having to deal with a lot of tough decisions. But she tried to forget about that while they were away.”

So, while it may be the last time we see all of the Beckhams together for a while, Victoria has been making sure she has memories to cherish.

Our source adds, “She’s really desperate to pack in the good times with her family now, because she says you never know what’s to come. She’s told friends that, at the end of the day, this is all she needs to keep her heart full and happy.”
