Love Island’s Demi Jones has given fans an update on her cancer battle, telling them the "pain is so much worse" after waking up from her second operation.

Posting to her stories before going into theatre, Demi opened up about how she was feeling pre-op, saying, "Just waiting to head into surgery now to have my full thyroidectomy to remove an more cancer on the gland, feeling a bit anxious today as I’ve got to be in for a few days but I’m a tough cookie ❤️.

"See you on the other side."

Seven hours later she posted again, writing, "I’ve just woke up, pain is so much worst this time. I’ve been asleep for hours nurses struggled to wake me up.

"Thank you for everyone’s messages, I’ll get back to you as soon I as can".

But this week she revealed that despite widespread support from friends and followers, some of her former Love Islanders are yet to reach out.

"A few Islanders didn't reach out to me, which I didn't expect. I’m not going to name names, it will cause problems," she said.

"It’s weird because we were so close in the villa so then coming out and then zero contact. I wish them all the best but I feel I don’t know what the reason is, I don’t know if they just want to separate from the whole Love Island hysteria. It is what it is."
