She has admitted in the past how she was ‘plucked out as a bit of a poster girl’ for having a relationship with a younger man. And now, insiders tell heat that Demi Moore is living up to her romantic reputation, as she has been enjoying spending time with Andrew Garfield in the wake of their viral ‘flirting’ at the Golden Globes last month.

A source close to the actress says, ‘While Demi isn’t looking to settle down, having someone in her life who she can enjoy some romance with while also connecting on a deeper level would really do her good. She and Andrew have a huge physical attraction. He not only thinks Demi is stunning, but that she’s this huge talent. Andrew is just her type – he’s tall, fit, and thinks outside of the box. It’s all being kept very hush-hush at the moment but it’s obviously doing Demi good. Everyone’s saying how happy she is and how good it is for Andrew to have her in his life.’

The source adds, ‘Demi is so loving and grounded. There won’t be drama, and they can just have a great time together with no huge expectations or worries about the future. Her daughters are all excited – they want to see their mum have some romance again.’

Demi, 62, and Andrew, 41, became a hot topic in January, following her first Golden Globe win for her performance in The Substance. After the Spider-Man actor announced her as the winner for Best Actress – and marked her triumph by planting a kiss on her hand – the pair were later captured in what appeared to be a deep conversation at The Beverly Hilton. Demi was filmed holding Andrew’s hands as they stared at each other intently, and the pair happily posed for photographs together. Immediately, speculation was rife on social media that something was going on between the film stars, with one fan enthusing, ‘Love this coupling. Go for it!’

Rumours of a new Hollywood romance were heightened when Deux Moi shared intel from an anonymous source, which claimed, ‘Andrew Garfield is staying with Demi Moore at her Sun Valley, Idaho home.’ The celebrity gossip outlet then wrote, ‘Hope this is true. This couple would be [flame emojis]. Come in via anon email so can’t confirm.’

Now, a source says how Demi – who has three daughters, Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 31 – and Andrew have been drawn to one another’s personalities.

‘Demi is a very interesting character because on one hand, she’s the ultimate fierce mamma bear – she’s so nurturing. But she also has this very immature and silly side to her. People who know her say she has an old soul and a young spirit. That’s a huge draw for men of all ages, but especially younger guys like Andrew.

‘Meanwhile, Andrew is very funny and playful, which is something Demi always gravitates towards in the men she dates. They have to be able to make her laugh. It’s all still very new, but Demi is definitely enjoying herself, and everyone’s very pleased for her.’

In February 1981, Ghost actress Demi had been eighteen just two months when she married musician Freddy Moore, who was 30 at the time. Their divorce was finalised in 1985, and she revealed in her 2019 memoir Inside Out that she had been unfaithful to Freddy, most shockingly the night before they said, ‘I do.’ She wrote, ‘Why didn’t I go and see the man I was committing to spend the rest of my life with to express my doubts. Because I couldn’t face the fact that I was getting married to distract myself from grieving the death of my father. Because I felt there was no room to question what I’d already put in motion. I couldn’t get out of the marriage, but I could sabotage it.’

After a brief and failed engagement with actor Emilio Estevez, Demi moved on with Bruce Willis, the father of her three children, and they were married for just over 10 years until 1998. Their divorce was finalised in 2000, but she remains close to her ex-husband and his wife Emma Heming Willis, particularly through the award-winning actor’s battle with frontotemporal dementia. Demi married a third time in 2005, to actor Ashton Kutcher – who was 15 years her junior – but they separated in 2011 before their divorce was finalised two years later.

Meanwhile, Andrew’s most high-profile relationship was with actress Emma Stone between 2011 and 2015 after they met on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man. He has also been linked to songstress Rita Ora, model Alyssa Miller and Bridgerton breakout star Phoebe Dynevor.

Elsewhere, the American-born, UK-raised actor has been honest about how losing his mum to pancreatic cancer in 2019 has had a profound impact on him.

He said, ‘It’s so strange because it feels very unique when it is happening, it feels like, "Oh my God, I’m the only person that’s ever lost their mother,” because it does feel so lonely and precise. It feels just like a precise agony.’

And now, an insider reveals how Demi and Andrew’s individual hardships have created a sense of mutual understanding and compassion between them.

The source says, ‘Demi’s been caring for everyone else around her for such a long time now. The way she’s stepped in for Bruce and her girls as they all navigate his illness has been so beautiful. She wouldn’t have it any other way, but there’s no doubt she’s in need of some TLC herself.

‘And, by all accounts, there’s not a better man for the job than Andrew because he’s a genuinely lovely person. He’s a very emotionally intelligent and wise guy. Losing his mum was the most painful experience of his life, but it also taught him a lot. He’s able to understand grief and hold space for that kind of pain, which is really helpful, considering what Demi’s going through with Bruce and her family right now.’
