Chris Fountain is aiming to restart his on-hold acting career with a movie role in new short film Late.

He’s been pictured filming with his co-star Charlotte Gascoyne on a beach in Merseyside. The film is directed by Emily Gascoyne.

Chris told Digital Spy: "I first met Emily on the set of Bob and Rose in 2001 when we were just starting out on our TV careers. I am delighted to be working with her again on Late.

"It is a project I really believe in and want to bring to an audience. I'm looking forward to filming."

The film is about a love story about a young couple whose relationship is rocked when marriage comes into the equation.

Chris Fountain previously played Justin Burton in Hollyoaks and Tommy Duckworth on Corrie until he was sacked over some offensive videos, in which he wore a mask and rapped about raping a girl under an alter-ego called The Phantom.

At the time, Chris commented: "I would like to sincerely apologise for any offence I have caused. I am deeply ashamed by the lyrics and very much regret my behaviour. The videos were made over a year ago when I was experimenting with music and I've not done anything like it since and nor will I."

Only time will tell is the public are ready to accept him back as an actor.
