Coronation Street's Dolly-Rose Campbell recently came out as bisexual, claiming the 'love and acceptance' from Manchester Pride helped her 'accepting' her sexuality.
Dolly-Rose now plans on using her own experience to help others come to terms with their sexuality.
The 31-year-old has reportedly been a long-time supporter of the Manchester Pride parade, saying, “The love and acceptance shown by the people of Manchester allowed me to accept my bisexuality and be proud of who I am.”
Speaking of her role as an ambassador for the parade, she said, “The work that Manchester Pride does thoughout the year to engage with and create opportunities for people in Manchester’s LGBTQ+ community and beyond makes a huge difference to so many people’s lives.”
The star hopes to become an ambassador for gay pride, and has already taken steps to make a difference by voicing the new advert for Manchester Pride which will be taking place on August Bank Holiday Monday.
The actress has played Gemma Winter on the show for four years, and won the award for Best Comedy Performance at the British Soap Awards last year.
