So spare a thought for poor Dougie Poynter who has been teased by his fellow McBusted bandmates for buying his girlfriend Ellie Goulding a bit of a rubbish engagement ring.
Except he didn’t buy her any jewellery and the pair aren’t engaged.
Eh?! Say what?! Rumours the pair are set to marry have been circulating for a while with Ellie’s sparkler (one she wears on her ring finger because anything else sounds a bit rude) sparking speculation Dougie may have got down on one knee.
But he definitely didn’t and the couple are still just boyfriend and girlfriend. Boo!
He told Digital Spy: “No. It was just a ring that fit on that finger. It didn’t really look like an engagement though, did it?”
His bandmate Harry Judd added: “That would have been a lame engagement ring, Doug...”
