In a series of intimate messages obtained by the Mirror, Dr Christian Jessen was seen boasting about having drugs on the dating app Grindr. Since the claims came to light this morning, Christian has denied he is a regular drug user and claimed he was just trying to impress a man.

In the messages published in the newspaper, the Embarrassing Bodies star was seen claiming to have possession of the Class B drug mephedrone along with GHB and Cannabis.

Now, in an interview he’s claimed he was just trying to show off.

“On these chat sites there is a lot of timewasting and chat and silliness that never leads anywhere,” Christian told the Mirror. “My partner and I will do it on a bored evening and have conversations with no intention of meeting up.

It is a bit embarrassing now thinking about it, but you quite often chat to random people.

“It is more an ego thing than anything else, could I get them or not. There is always talk of drugs, in London it is such a problem. This chap brought it up. I spend my life advising people on drugs so of course I know all about it.”

He continued: “I think he said he was going to buy some for 'x' amount and I said don't do that you will be ripped off. Anyone in the know would do that frankly.

“I've been stupid but absolutely nothing happened. There was no meeting and no drugs were taken. That is the key point. It was just horny talk really.”

Christian also revealed that he expects he’ll be asked to meet some of the bosses at Channel 4 later this week to discuss the claims.
