June Brown plays Dot Cotton on EastEnders and has done since 1985. That’s thirty years of Dot. And as we all know, June is an absolute icon.

However the actress, 88, has revealed some shocking news – she’s actually losing her sight.

"I see things in my eyes now. My eyes are not very good. In the left occasionally I do get this small circle with what looks like cross-wires,” she told BBC Radio 4.

More news!

"I do pray about my sight - maybe it will return."

She also said that she doesn’t want to quit working on EastEnders – as she worries about being “poor”.

"You might laugh at that and think, 'she'll never be poor when she's old' but I've not squirrelled away lots of money.

“I've had two pensions each that have gone down by 50 per cent."

Poor June – that sounds really stressful.

Her character Dot Cotton has recently been embroiled in a court case after her son Nick Cotton died of a heroin overdose.

#FreeDot was trending on Twitter after Dot was wrongly sent to prison for Nick’s murder.
