EastEnders’ actress Lorna Fitzgerald has been pictured taking laughing gas, according to a report in the Sun.

In what sounds quite like a storyline her EastEnders character Abi Branning might have coming up, Lorna was pictured allegedly inhaling two balloons of nitrous oxide with a friend at 4am on Saturday after coming out of what the Sun calls a “boozy rave”. That’s their description, not ours. Clearly.

And no, we’re not going to refer to nitrous oxide as “hippy crack”, either.

Lorna allegedly paid £10 for the two balloons which she bought from a street dealer.

An anti-drugs charity has said that Lorna’s behaviour is “very risky”.

A bystander told the paper: “Lorna was quite obviously a bit drunk.

“After sucking the balloons they started giggling.

“A few people recognised her and shouted, ‘Abi’. She said, ‘That’s not my real name’.

“One clubber tried to ask her what was going to happen in EastEnders but she was having none of it.”

EastEnders bosses are said to be furious with the actress.

EastEnders really aren’t happy and are going to be talking to Lorna about it. They don’t take this kind of behaviour lightly,” said an insider.

Laughing gas isn’t illegal but it has been linked to 17 deaths since 2006.
