Ed Sheeran helps friend pay off her mortgage by adding her to track credit

Ed Sheeran is officially the nicest man in the world.

The red-headed singer, who over the weekend got a bit cheeky with Ruby Rose at the MTV EMAs, helped an old school friend pay off her mortgage.

Mum-of-two Amy Wadge visited Ed in Wales to help write **his world famous track *Thinking Out Loud *- prior to this Amy told Ed of her money struggles and asked if he could add a song from when they were 17 to his deluxe album.

He added the song to the album with her name on it and then they wrote *Thinking Out Loud. *

Speaking to The Mirror, Ed explained: "She was going through financial troubles about a year ago.

"She drove to my house – my album was nearly done – and she asked if I could put a song from when I was 17 on the deluxe album, so she could get a little bit of money and pay the mortgage and bills and stuff.

"While she was there, we wrote Thinking Out Loud. Now she never has to worry about money again."

He added: "She’s got a family and two kids and stuff and every time I speak to her, she’s going on holiday. It’s really nice to see. It wouldn’t have happened if she hadn’t come down from Wales to see me."

Amy has said: "I’m not going to lie and say things hadn’t got financially difficult. My publishing advance had run out and I wasn’t seeing my family at all."

Since aiding Ed with his songwriting Ben Haenow and Geri Halliwell have sought out Amy for her skills.
